The Imugene board, management and dedicated consulting team collectively possess the necessary balance of corporate, research, development and commercialisation experience to ensure the Company continues to take advantage of the commercial opportunities for the novel biological animal health treatments under development.
Each member of Imugene’s senior management is uniquely qualified and has international experience. Together, they are well positioned to achieve the commercial ambitions of Imugene.
Mr Graham Dowland |

Mr Dowland has for the past 20 years, been involved as a significant shareholder, director or senior consultant/ advisor with a number of public companies listed on stock exchanges in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom with operations internationally. These companies have been and continue to be involved in various industries including pharmaceutical research and development – specifically human and animal biotechnology, gold mining and exploration, oil and gas exploration and production, manufacturing, and industrial technology development and marketing. Mr Dowland has been involved in the development phase of numerous businesses that have achieved listings and capital raisings from the various major international stock exchanges. |
Dr Warwick Lamb |

Dr Lamb is a specialist veterinarian with broad experience within the profession and animal health industry. He has worked in private general practice, private specialist practice and university practice both in Australia and the USA. Prior to forming Imugene with Mr Graham Dowland in mid 2002, Dr Lamb founded one of Australia’s first stand–alone specialist and emergency veterinary practices. He has had extensive interactions with major global animal health companies throughout his career. Since the formation of Imugene, Dr Lamb has overseen the selection and development of Imugene’s animal health technologies, managed and expanded the intellectual property portfolio and overseen the design and execution of a comprehensive animal trial program in Australia and the US. |
Mr Roger Steinepreis |

Roger Steinepreis graduated from the University of Western Australia where he completed his law degree. He was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 1987 and has been practising as a lawyer for over 20 years. He is the legal adviser to a number of public companies on a wide range of corporate related matters. His areas of practice focus on company restructures, initial public offerings and takeovers. |
Dr Michael Sheppard |

Dr Mike Sheppard is Chief Scientific Officer, and has responsibility for managing Imugene’s research projects, overseeing Imugene’s intellectual property, ensuring that commercial milestones are met and research is commercially focused to achieve the successful progression of products to market. Dr Sheppard is a molecular biologist with a distinguished international scientific and corporate career. Having worked in various research organisations, both overseas and in Australia, including five years with the CSIRO, Dr Sheppard, along with Dr Kevin Fahey, was a key initiator of the Adenoviral Delivery Vector research that forms the platform for the production animal products currently being commercialised. Dr Sheppard also has 10 years of international research and development experience in the USA with the major pharmaceutical company Smith Kline Beecham (now Glaxo Smith Kline), and the world’s largest pharmaceutical company, Pfizer, as the Director of Biological Discovery. |
Sui Lay |

Sui Lay completed his BSc (Hons) in 1996, graduating with first class honours in Microbiology at La Trobe University, Melbourne. He then continued his education, undertaking PhD studies. Sui is employed as a research scientist and has worked for Imugene since the establishment of its research laboratory at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. He has 15 years of molecular biology experience and is involved with all aspects of research work such the design, construction, laboratory testing and characterization of an expanding list of vaccines, as well as the scale up and production of vaccine candidates for animal trials. Sui has also played a role in the design and development of new vaccine candidates leading to a patent application. |
Dr Kevin Fahey |

Dr Fahey is an internationally recognised animal health expert in both the research and development of new vaccines and biopharmaceutical products. Dr Fahey has worked in the USA and Australia during the last decade, with SmithKline Beecham Animal Health (now Glaxo Smith Kline) and recently with Pfizer, the world’s largest pharmaceutical company, where he became the Executive Director – Biological Discovery for Pfizer Global Research & Development. Having been involved with the initial stages of the CSIRO research in the late 1980’s while working with CSIRO, Dr Fahey has a detailed understanding of Imugene’s product range, in particular the Adenoviral Delivery Vector based production animal portfolio. |
